Now heres a spectacular offering that is truely a one of a kind fossil. A complete and mounted museum style articulated foot and leg fossil bones from the famous Dimetrodon! This fossil as it is professionally affixed to a matrix piece with metal bars to keep it sturdy and in place so this one you can impressively display proudly in your collection without worry! This fossil was found in the Permian age (280 million year old) Ryan Formation near Waurika Oklahoma and has some museum style restoration with the plate measuring approximately 13Lx6.5Wx5.5H. Dimetrodon is famously mistaken to be a dinosaur but it is actually a mammal like reptile known as a synapsid. Dimetrodon is famous for its sail back, but this is the leg that moved the beast and gave it the locomotion to track, chase, and take down just about any prey! Its easy to imagine it stepping and running upon a permain landscape. This is one of those special pieces that truly elevates a simple collection to a museum worthy display!
