Here offered is a finely preserved, detailed, and very rare fossil of the large asterolid starfish Hystrigaster horridus from the Lower Devonian, Emsian, Hunsruck Slates of Bundenvbach, Germany. Hystrigaster horridus, is known as the "fearsome wild boar" due to its long and robust spines. A large, rare starfish with short, broad arms. This specimen has a decent amount intact featuring smaller overlapping arms with what appears to be fragments of the central body. This genus is among the rarest of all echinoderms from the Bundenbach fauna, and complete specimens are the most sought after "true" Bundenbach starfish. Heres your chance for a displayable example! One for the specialist collector of unique one of a kind fossils.
