These are Megalodon shark tooth found while scuba diving in a dark, black water river in South Carolina. This is a meg from a famous "Gold Site" in South Carolina. This specific area is one of the most dangerous spots in the world to dive. Deep, dark, fast flowing water with very low visibility and loaded with sharks. This spot also does not produce very many gold colored teeth and the ones that we do find almost all need restoration. The teeth are usually all sharply serrated with enamel peel and/or root erosion. Only a few non-restored teeth out there from this site and most of them will have restoration. Just the way it is with this spot. This is a beautiful tooth from a very rare site that not many people will have a meg from and with a good resto job can be valued at this size around $1,000.
