Here is a large beautifully detailed Trigonia (Myophorella lusitanica) bivalve shell fossil from the Jurassic deposits of Torres Vedras, Portuga. Trigonia is an extinct genus of saltwater clams. Illustrated by a series of strong ribs also known as costae along the anterior part of the shell exterior. The fossil range of the genus spans from 298 to 56 Million Years Ago. There is only one living relative alive today! This specimen is beautifully prepared and detailed. Making a great addition or gift for the sea shell/fossil shell collector.
