This is a very interesting and unique piece of a detailed chunk of dinosaur skull bone in matrix from the Jurassic aged Morrison Formation of Wyoming. The surface detail thats there is good and the morphology of the bumps, ridges, knows, and etc suggest its from a theropod dinosaur and I believe from the back of the skull/jaw. Heres where things get very interesting with this piece as while taking to the time to do research/comparisons it was hard to find an exact match in the skulls of allosaurus or even ceratosaurus. Then I though maybe Marshosaurus but still even not then, also I feel like this would've came from a larger theropod. That leaves one option and to my knowledge a complete Torvosaurus skull has not been found, meaning this piece has the potential to be an undiscovered element from Torvosaurus! This is personal speculation but would explain why I could not find the exact piece in any if the other Morrison theropods and tp mention the back of the lower jaw of Torvosaurus has yet to be discovered where this piece may of came from. Regardless of my suspicions, still an awesome and unique piece of Jurassic theropod sp. Skull material that rarely comes to market.
